If you’re parenting a little one, you know how difficult it is to put a baby down at night. This task becomes even more complicated once they transition to a nursery away from a bedside bassinet near mom or dad. As a parent of four, I can attest that establishing a consistent nighttime routine is important for a baby to understand when it’s time to go down at night.
My son Kyrie’s daily nighttime routine goes something like this:
- A soothing bath in warm water.
- A bottle of milk with cuddles in between burps.
- Gentle foot massage, with occasional drops of lavender on his feet.
- Dressing him in his comfy pajamas.
- Singing him a sweet lullaby.
We also have a few significant items we use every night to ensure Kyrie is comfortable and sleeps through the night: A comfortable footed onesie, a zippered sleep sack, and the number one item (and must-have!) is MAM’s Original Night PacifierOpens a new window. It’s no wonder MAM has won a slew of awards because their pacifiers promote safe sleep, which is something all parents want, of course. Plus, they are so well-constructed, babies won’t want to take them out of their mouths. Here are a few other reasons why my family loves MAM pacifiers:
- They come in several sizes for babies – newborn, 0 to 6 months, and 6 months and up, so they grow with your baby.

- They are developed with pediatric dentists and specially made to help support baby’s oral development, which is important for us, especially since differently shaped nipples can alter how teeth grow in. My children’s teeth typically start growing when they’re around 5 to 6 months old, so it’s essential for my babies to have a durable pacifier that can grow with them.
- Their design is unique and innovative. The MAM Night pacifiers are made with glow-in-the-dark knobs that make it super easy for Kyrie (and us!) to find in his crib in the middle of the night.
- The nipples are made of SkinSoft silicone, similar to breast skin, making it easy and comfortable for babies to latch on. The SkinSoft material also flattens and extends to mimic the sensation of nursing. I’m pretty sure this is why breastfed (or formally breastfed) babies like Kyrie love them.
- The silicone material is BPA-free and is not made with toxic epoxy – commonly found in pacifiers and other “food-safe” products.
- Kyrie especially loves the curved shield design, which allows the pacifier to sit comfortably in his mouth. Plus, the shield is breathable, which lets air flow to the skin around his lips.
So, if you’re a new or expecting parent, make sure you put a few of the MAM pacifiers on your registry, and don’t forget to include a larger size. Trust me, you’re not going to want to put your baby to sleep without them! And once you establish a bedtime routine with your baby, my advice is to stick to it. You and your baby deserve consistent, comfortable nights of sleep so that you’re both happier, well-rested, and ready for plenty of playtime, hugs, and kisses the next day!
