The Best Twin Lounger [Will it Change the Game in the Newborn Stage?]

You’ve probably heard of a boppy, they are pretty much a baby registry must-have at this point. But what do you do if you are having twins? Sure, you can place them both in the boppy for a bit while they’re tiny but they will outgrow this pretty quickly. You are going to want a twin lounger for the long run. Think… a boppy times two! Let’s get into how you can use them and what options you’ve got.

What Do You Use a Twin Lounger For?

You don’t need two of everything when welcoming two babies and you also don’t need every cool twin gadget (there are a lot of them out there). But, I strongly believe a twin lounger is one of those products worth having around.

A twin lounger will come in handy for lounging (of course) and will allow you to set your babies safely next to each other for bonding. The reason I really believe all twin moms need a twin lounger, though, is that they are a huge help when nursing or feeding bottles! Figuring out nursing with twins can be especially tough, but having a lounger will help you get them into position while holding them both at once.

    Best Twin Lounger Options

    Twin Z Pillow

The Twin Z Pillow is one of the most popular options when it comes to twin loungers. It was featured on Shark Tank, after all. But what makes it so special?

It really is just like a double-sided boppy! You can set your babies on either side, just like you would with a boppy. You can also wrap the pillow around you pushing the divider up to use as back support and buckling it in the front. This will create a pillow loop, of sorts, which is perfect for tandem breastfeeding or bottle-feeding support. I love that it has a buckle so that it doesn’t move around on you while feeding.

As your twins get a bit older, the Twin Z Pillow is great for tummy time. I always found my babies liked tummy time better when they weren’t directly on the floor. You can also use it as support when your little ones are learning to sit up.

As for the nitty gritty, the Twin Z Pillow is foam-free and hypoallergenic. The pillow has to be hand washed but the cover (which it comes with) can be thrown in the washer and dryer.

This is the most budget-friendly option on our list, but it really is built for feeding not lounging. That being said if the reason you want a twin lounger is mainly for feeding then this is a wonderful option! It offers optimal back support for mama with a firm backrest and the loop is wide enough to easily support both babies.

I also love the convenient little pocket! It’s the perfect spot to set your phone or a water bottle so you don’t lose track of it while feeding.

    TwinGo Nurse & Lounge Pillows

If you are looking for versatility, the TwinGo Nurse & Lounge Pillow is awesome with its 8-in-1 design! Basically, it comes in three pieces; two loungers and a back support piece.

It can be used for tandem breastfeeding, bottle feeding, breastfeeding one baby while the other lounges separately, side-by-side lounging, tummy time, and a bumper for support when your babies are learning to sit. When your babies have outgrown the lounger, you can use it as a lap pillow to support your laptop and even as a portable massage table!

There is more to this lounger than just being versatile though. It is also made from soft, hypoallergenic materials, and the cover is easy to remove and machine washable.

As for my personal favorite, I don’t think anything compares to the TwinGo Nurse & Lounge Pillow! It is certainly an investment, but you also get the most out of it from tandem breastfeeding to completely separate loungers for your growing babies. Welcoming twins can feel overwhelming, but with the right baby gear and the support of your loved ones, you’ve got this!

    Frequently Asked Questions

Why can’t babies sleep on newborn lounger?

The AAP recommends that a baby’s sleep space is firm and free of bedding and other soft objects. That being said, babies should not sleep on a lounger as they are cushioned and plush. The risk of rolling over into an unsafe position is also high.

Can babies sleep in the Twin Z pillow?

No, the Twin Z pillow is not safe for sleep. It is meant to be used for lounging and feeding.
