Finding a reliable pair of maternity leggingsOpens a new window — and then stocking up on them — is an essential for many moms-to-be. A good pair of maternity leggings will grow with you as you progress through the trimesters without putting too much pressure on your belly. With summer around the corner, however, you might want to consider a shorter option. And BabyCenter moms are huge fans of the Lululemon Align High-Rise ShortOpens a new window, which are essentially a bike short version of the popular Lululemon Align High-Rise PantOpens a new window. These high-rise shorts are normally splurge-worthy at $64, but right now, you can get yourself a pair for as low as $39. Made of the brand’s famous buttery-smooth lightweight Nulu fabric, these shorts are designed to offer a “next-to-nothing feeling,” according to Lululemon. Each pair has light compression, which so many pregnant people found to be supportive of their bump without being overly constricting.

“Lululemon align line worked for me my whole pregnancy and are magical and still fit when I wasn’t pregnant so while expensive at least you get lots of wear out of them for leggings and bike shorts,” one BabyCenter community mom wrote.

Several other BabyCenter community moms agreed that the Align Shorts are ideal for pregnancy, postpartum and beyond:

“I usually wear a 6 in lululemon and I got the align shorts in 8 and 10 and both still fit VERY comfortably but at 33 weeks now the 10 stays up better.”

“I also splurged on some Lululemon align leggings in size 8 which is one size bigger than I normally wear. And some align biker shorts. They have so much stretch and feeling my best/put together during the 4th trimester is important to me.”

“The Lululemon Align shorts are really comfortable, even though they aren’t technically maternity. They’re on the pricey side but so far have been worth it.”

Although many moms recommended going up one size in the Lululemon bike shorts, others were fine with keeping their regular size. In fact, some already had these on hand and were able to wear them before, during and after pregnancy.

“I bought the align shorts pre pregnancy and I can still wear them now and they are still so comfy! I wanted to buy a few more but they never have my size in the colors I want,” one BabyCenter mom said.

Having a pair of maternity bike shorts on hand is not only great for finding comfort when it’s hot outside, but also for exercising while pregnant, whether for yoga, walking, running, strength training or biking. And what’s especially nice about Lululemon’s shorts is that they are moisture-wicking, so you can get your heart rate up without your pants becoming drenched in sweat.
One thing you’ll want to note if you plan on buying the Align shorts is that they come with three inseam options; 6-Opens a new window 8-Opens a new window and 10-inchesOpens a new window.

If you want to take advantage of this Lululemon special and get your hands on a pair of Align shorts, keep in mind that the price may vary depending on style and color. You’ll also notice that some colors are available in limited sizes. Finally, because these shorts are final sale, you won’t be able to return them once you purchase them. But, if the rave reviews from BabyCenter moms and moms-to-be are any indication, you won’t have to worry about that!
