    Kaitlyn Teen Summary: 16.75 Years Old

    16.75 year old teen girl information and helps. See all about her daily life as a teen girl and get the teen schedule. Talking about functional oldest, driving in bad weather, volunteering, extra curriculars, and a teen schedule.

    This is the latest on Kaitlyn from 16.5-16.75 years old.

    EAT

    Kaitlyn is still into trying new foods. She has been into making bagels lately, which has been a very yummy addition to our diet!

    FUNCTIONAL OLDEST

    She is also still acting a lot like an oldest child since Brayden has moved out. She has been very responsible and taking on big goals. Brayden has asked “Who are you?” when we have talked to him on the phone each week and she tells him about waking up at 4:30 AM to get the day going.

    DRIVING

    An adventure with driving during this time period has been the snow. This is her first winter with a driver’s license. We have had a lot of snow and roads have been sketchy. It does make her nervous at times, but she has done well and has remembered the teaching she got in driver’s ed for staying safe on slippery roads.

    SCHOOL

    School is good. She has taken on a very intense load this trimester at school. She has taken a full load–even taking a college course during what is the school’s “study hall” hour, so she has a lot of homework at all times.

    A fun thing with school during this time period has been a couple of different school dances. There as been a girls’ choice and a boys’ choice dance.

    She is currently playing soccer with her club team and taking piano lessons.

    She went to a tournament with her team to San Diego in November and had fun there.

    She did a concert that was just her singing her original songs in the beginning of December. She did a great job. We then did a recording session in January where she recorded most of those songs. That was a fun experience.

    WORK

    For work she has been grooming dogs. She doesn’t advertise but word of mouth and repeat customers keep her busy!

    VOLUNTEERING

    She spent time volunteering by running the lights for the middle school musical and is currently being a choreographer at the elementary school musical. I have been very impressed with how well she handles the kids at the elementary. There are some difficult children (difficult in various ways) and she handles them really well. She keeps it fun but also keeps them focused.

    DAILY SCHEDULE

    4:30 AM Get up and get ready for school
    7:30 AM Leave to go to school. Soccer practice is after school.
    4:30 PM Get home from school
    5:30 PM Dinner (typically)
    8:00 PM Goes to bed
