With just four simple ingredients, this Peanut Butter Dip is high in protein, low in added sugar, and is a perfect match for fruit, crackers, and pretzels. Plus, you can make it ahead and serve it up as needed!

In the warmer months—and just as an option for a nutritious snack that’s also seriously yummy—this Peanut Butter Dip is in regular rotation. You can stir it together in minutes, serve it with a variety of dippers including sliced apples or pears, strawberries, graham crackers, pretzel sticks, or any other fruit, and it stores well for days so you can make ahead and use it as you like.

It’s also a delicious dessert served with mini chocolate chips on top and graham crackers or fruit for dipping!

Much like my Cheesecake Dip, which is also fast, easy and delicious, this dip is great for kids and adults for almost any occasion.

(You may also like my Peanut Butter Yogurt, Yogurt Dip for Fruit, and Vanilla Cottage Cheese Dip as other easy options.)

    Ingredients You Need

Here’s a look at the ingredients you need to make this easy Peanut Butter Dip so you know what to have on hand and ready to go.

Ingredients for peanut butter yogurt on countertop.
    • Greek yogurt: I prefer to use plain whole milk Greek style yogurt in this dip so that it is as creamy and thick as possible. If you have only regular style yogurt, that can be used too, just know it will be a little less thick.
    • Peanut butter: Unsweetened natural style peanut butter gives this dip delicious peanut butter flavor without added sugars. (You can really use any type you have, but that type is my first choice.)
    • Honey: A little honey can balance the flavors in this recipe. You can also use maple syrup or agave if you prefer.
    • Vanilla extract: Adding vanilla extract, artificial or pure, gives the dip even more flavor that helps it pair well with a range of dippers.

    Allergy Substitutions

You can use nondairy yogurt in place of dairy yogurt, agave nectar or maple syrup in place of the honey (or well-mashed banana to make it added-sugar-free), and sunflower seed butter or another nut or seed butter in place of the peanut butter as you like or prefer.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

Below is an overview of how to make this Peanut Butter Yogurt Dip. Scroll down to the end of the post for the full information, including the amounts and the timing.

Ingredients for peanut butter yogurt in glass bowl before mixing.

Step 1. Add the ingredients to a medium bowl. (It’s easiest to stir this dip if the peanut butter is at room temperature.)

Step 2. Stir very well to combine. The mixture will get a little fluffy the more you stir it, so be sure to do so for about 30-60 seconds.

TIP: Serve with strawberries, apple slices, pretzels (gluten-free if needed), banana slices, animal crackers, graham crackers, or other dippers your family enjoys.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do you need cream cheese to make Peanut Butter Dip?

You can make the dip extra creamy by adding softened cream cheese, though it is very creamy and fluffy as the recipe here is written.

Does this dip work with other nut butters?

Sure, you can use almond butter, cashew butter, or sunflower seed butter instead of peanut butter if desired.

Can I serve this as a dessert?

Sure! Pair it with vanilla cookies or chocolate wafer cookies, fruit, mini chocolate chips, and/or pretzel sticks.

    How to Store

Store Peanut Butter Dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Stir before serving as the water from the yogurt may separate out a little.

    Best Tips for Success

    • Use creamy, unsweetened natural-style peanut butter or reduce the added sweetener if using sweetened peanut butter.
    • Serve with sliced apples, sliced pears, strawberries, blueberries, or another fruit, or graham crackers, pretzel sticks, or mini chocolate chips.
