Transform fresh (or frozen) peaches into the most delicious peach sauce with this simple method. It’s a delicious fruit puree to share with a baby or toddler. It’s great on its own or mixed with yogurt or oatmeal.

    Peach Sauce

Whenever we have a lot of fresh peaches, they’re on sale at the market, or I have some frozen ones that need to be used up, we make a batch of peach sauce.

The beauty of this recipe is that you just have to dice the fruit, simmer it, and blend it into a delicious puree. No peeling or blanching required. Then you can serve it in a bowl, in a reusable pouch, or as a dip or topping for French Toast Sticks, Greek Yogurt Pancakes, Yogurt Waffles, Vanilla Cake, other desserts you like, or even plain yogurt.

    Ingredients You Need

To make this recipe you just need the following simple ingredients.

    • Peaches: You can use fresh ripe peaches or frozen peaches depending on the time of year, what’s most affordable, or what you have access to.
    • Optional flavor enhancements: You can add extra flavor with fresh lemon juice, cinnamon, or a little grated ginger if you’d like. (We usually have it as is.)
    • Optional sweetener: I don’t often add maple syrup or honey to this, but you could sweeten to taste as needed according to the sweetness of your fruit.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

Here’s a look at the process involved in this recipe. Scroll down to the bottom of the post for the full information.

how to make peach sauce step by step
    1. Roughly dice the peaches (they can be big pieces). Discard the pits. (Skip this step if using frozen peaches.)
    2. Cook until soft and stir occasionally in the saucepan.
    3. Blend smooth.
    4. Serve or store in the refrigerator or freezer.

TIP: You can freeze this sauce as you would any other baby food puree in an ice cube tray. Then you can pop out a few cubes at a time as needed.
