Welcome to a typical day at Creative Childcare! Every moment is packed with playing, learning, developing skills, friendship-making, problem-solving, and of course, delicious food prepared fresh on-site by our talented chefs.
Despite all the activities and programs we have available, our daily and room routines are incredibly flexible. This allows us to prioritise our time while supporting every child’s needs on a day-to-day basis.
Here is an example of our general schedule: Open Play:
We open our centre doors at 7 a.m. Around this time, we allow all the children to play together in one of our impressive playgrounds. By giving each child the opportunity to play with other kids they may not typically be grouped with, we’re strengthening their ability to socialise and to engage with children of all ages.
    Morning Tea:
After morning playtime, children go into their designated rooms for morning tea at 8:30 a.m. We take care of nappies and toileting, to ensure each child is happy and healthy. We also go the extra mile to record everything the kids have eaten and how much for their families to view at their discretion.
    Teaching Playtime:
Once the 8:30 a.m. morning tea is over, we begin our child-led and intentional teaching playtime. This is when the children have the opportunity to engage with both peers and educators as they play, learn, and build upon their ever-growing skills. This playtime can occur both indoors and outdoors, weather depending, as our outdoor playgrounds can be a great space for children to improve their motor skills and get daily exercise.
    Group Time:
Before lunch, many of our rooms engage the children in both formal and informal group times. This is where songs can be sung, dances can be danced, and stories can be read. There are also lots of open discussions and conversations among our students, particularly with our older children. This is a fantastic way to increase your child’s literacy and language skills, as well as their confidence by having them be a part of groups.
    Lunch Time:
After group time, lunch is served. Our children always look forward to the delicious meals our talented team of chefs make them every day. We also expertly accommodate each child’s dietary and nutritional requirements, so please don’t hesitate to notify us of any allergies, intolerances, or special requests you may have. We know how to ensure every guideline is met, while still making sure that your child’s meal is similar to their classmates’ meals.
    Rest Time:
After such a busy morning, we all need a little downtime and rest. We ensure that all children’s rights are met by having a designated sleep and rest time in the middle of the day. Children can either go down for a nap or take some quiet time to recharge their energy for the rest of the afternoon’s activities. For our younger babies, we take extra steps to work closely with families to ensure that we support their home meal and sleep routine.

    Progressive Tea:
Progressive afternoon tea allows children to make their own choice with their mealtimes and to decide when they would like to eat and play. This encourages them to be independent, while still providing structure and security.
    Afternoon Time:
Afternoon time brings more opportunities to learn, play, and socialise with peers in both the indoor and outdoor playgrounds. As the day begins to wind down, we gather as a big group for more afternoon playtime and a late tea snack as families arrive for pickup. It’s the perfect way to say farewell to our friends and their families at the end of a wonderful day.
The backbone of our educational program comes from a combination of common and innovative practices that support us in providing early learning for children of all ages.
    1.
    Child-Led Learning and Programs
    .
Our talented educators set up a diverse range of learning opportunities and unique programs that cater to each child’s interests, skills, and challenges. Families receive daily updates on what’s being taught, as well as monthly one-on-one sessions with teachers concerning their child’s progress. We make accessibility and transparency top priorities so that families are always up to date on their child’s learning.
    2. Intentional Teaching
We employ intentional teaching practices that incorporate each individual child’s interests and learning style. This allows our educators to improve upon specific skills and develop their own plans to achieve the goals of the children in their care.
    3. Goal Setting
Here at Creative Childcare, we place immense value on parental involvement. That’s why we work collaboratively with families to set goals for their children at the start of each year. This provides families with the opportunity to communicate their thoughts, concerns, and what skills they would like their child working toward during the school year.
We take this feedback seriously, as it strengthens our relationship with our student’s families while also showing our respect for them as the most influential teachers their children will ever have.
    4. Predictable Daily Routines
We encourage our students to operate independently within our predictable daily routines. That includes having them actively use sunscreen, tissues, and cups themselves, along with other personal care items. We also show them how to set up activities for themselves and their classmates, allowing them to build confidence and develop cooperative skills.
