With an easy method, full-fruit flavor, and endless variations, these Fruit Popsicles are refreshing and delicious for any age.

    Fruit Popsicles

My family eats popsicles all year round to soothe sore throats, enjoy as snacks, and just cool off, and this method for making fruit popsicles is one of our very favorites. You can use any fresh or frozen fruit you have on hand or that your kids like, you can sweeten to taste or make them without any added sweetener, and you have the option to make them creamy or not. In short, this is a versatile recipe that can be made again and again!

We love to make them in reusable popsicle molds, but you can also use ice-pop sleeves or a small paper cup with a popsicle stick.

    Ingredients You Need

Here’s a look at what you need to have on hand to make this easy popsicle recipe.

    • Fruit:  Pick one fruit or a combo of two or more. You can use fresh diced fruit or simply thaw a bag of frozen fruit. Options that we enjoy most include strawberries, mango, pineapple, peaches, and melon.
    • Apple juice: A little juice ensures the mixture is easy to blend. You can also use full-fat coconut milk, solids only, or plain whole-milk yogurt if you prefer to make a creamy fruit popsicle.
    • Honey (or maple syrup; optional): Taste the blended fruit mixture before adding it to the popsicle molds and sweeten to taste if needed. There is a huge range of natural sweetness in fruit, so tasting it to see the sweetness level is the best way to know if it tastes good enough.
    • Lime juice (optional): You can add a little fresh lime juice to brighten the fruit flavor.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

Below is a look at how to make this popsicle recipe so you know what to expect from the process. Scroll down to the end of the post for the full recipe, including amounts and timing.

    1. Add the ingredients to a blender.
    2. Blend until very smooth. Taste and adjust sweetness as desired.
    3. Pour into ice pop sleeves or popsicle molds. Freeze until firm.
    4. Serve cold.
    5. (To make without a blender, add ingredients to a wide bowl and mash coarsely with a potato masher.)

    How to Store

Once fully frozen, keep in the freezer for up to 6 months. If you freeze in popsicle molds without a plastic cover, you can transfer to a freezer bag once fully frozen to keep them fresher.

    Best Tips for Success

    • Use fresh or thawed frozen fruit. Try a single fruit flavor or a mixture of favorites.
    • Taste the blended fruit and adjust sweetness with honey or maple syrup as needed.
    • Use apple juice, coconut milk (the full-fat kind in a can, solid part only), or Greek yogurt to vary the flavor. The coconut milk or yogurt will make these a little creamy.
    • Use ice-pop sleeves or popsicle molds.
    • Fruit that works well for this recipe includes mango, pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, kiwi, watermelon (seedless), peaches, pineapple, cantaloupe, or honeydew.
    • Let sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes to soften slightly or run under hot water before serving if desired.
