Pregnancy and Baby Trends To Watch for in 2025

    Share Facebook Twitter Pinterest WhatsApp

What’s what in the realm of pregnancy and parenting is constantly evolving, so it’s no surprise that the trends are always changing, too. Whether you’re curious about what to expect in the new year or simply want to be on board with what’s “in” regarding all things pregnancy and baby, you’ve landed in the right spot! Read on to find out what trends we’re watching for in 2025.

Top Pregnancy and Baby Trends To Look Out for in the Next Year

Here are our predictions for the biggest pregnancy and baby trends to keep an eye on in 2025:

    1. AI-Powered Parenting Tools

Technology is growing in leaps and bounds, and we expect parenting tools to do the same in 2025. The increase in AI capabilities leads us to believe we’ll see a rise in AI-powered parenting apps and devices. These might include personalized sleep coaching tools, interactive developmental trackers, virtual lactation consultations, and more.

    2. Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Baby Products

Just as much as we’re relying on the complex abilities of technology leading into the new year, parents and brands alike are also focusing on sustainability. Eco-conscious items (including biodegradable diapers, organic textiles, and carbon-neutral baby gear) are already becoming more and more mainstream. And we think they’ll continue to do so in 2025!

    3. Gender-Inclusive Parenting Products

A mother is sitting on the floor, changing a baby's shirt amidst some neutral baby toys. The baby lies on a white rug with wooden toys scattered nearby. The room, reflecting a touch of modern pregnancy style, features wooden floors and walls.

Say goodbye to the pink vs. blue mindset when selecting girls’ and boys’ products. As society increasingly focuses on gender inclusivity, we anticipate that brands will be stepping away from traditional gender norms as they design baby clothes, nursery decor, and even toys, focusing on more nature-themed or earth-tone designs. We expect an emphasis on inclusive trends, such as STEM-based toys for any gender and children’s books about diversity and representation.

    4. Pre-Pregnancy Wellness Focus

There’s no doubt about it: maternal health builds the foundation for healthy babies. Going into the new year, we expect to see an increased focus on conception and fertility wellness. Look out for innovations in fertility monitoring devices, preconception nutrition, and personalized health supplements.

    5. Postpartum Care Innovations

A woman with long blonde hair smiles while holding a newborn baby wrapped in a blanket, embracing the joy of new motherhood. Seated on a hospital bed surrounded by medical equipment, she embodies the beauty and wonder of current pregnancy and baby trends.

With the importance of postpartum care becoming a hotter topic of discussion, keep an eye on innovations intended to support women after giving birth. Brands are beginning to address the topic more openly, so we anticipate increased popularity in product lines that aid in postpartum recovery. Think: perineal care kits, wearable technology for pelvic floor strengthening, and specialized mental health resources for moms.

    6. Virtual Birth Education

Modern-day parents are busier than ever, so flexibility and convenience will be key in 2025. Look out for comprehensive, on-demand birth classes on topics including hypnobirthing, VBAC (vaginal birth after a cesarean) prep, and C-section recovery. These individualized childbirth classes might include live Q&A sessions with doulas and childbirth educators, video walkthroughs of hospital procedures for first-time parents, and other offerings that allow families to prepare for childbirth on their own terms.

    7. Smart Baby Monitors and Nursery Technology

These days, baby monitors are more high-tech than they’ve ever been. Thus, we expect advancements in features such as biometric tracking, real-time alerts for parents, and integration with home technology systems like Alexa and Google Home. Cameras that detect baby’s breathing and heart rate will become the norm. And so will ambient nursery controls that adjust lighting, temperature, and white noise based on baby’s sleep patterns.

    8. Emphasis on Baby-Led Weaning (BLW)

A baby sits in a high chair with a pink bib and holds a piece of broccoli. Looking forward contentedly, the little one munches away, surrounded by more broccoli pieces on the tray. The scene is set against a plain white background.

Baby-led weaning is a feeding method that emphasizes going straight to introducing “normal” solid, whole foods rather than sticking to purees and “baby foods.” Fostering independence at mealtimes can lead to healthier eating habits, such as the ability for little ones to better gauge their appetites and properly chew and swallow.5 So, we anticipate that BLW will only continue to gain traction in 2025.

Expect an increase in new tools and products to support this trend, such as silicone plates and utensils designed for self-feeding (like ergonomic spoons). We also anticipate an increased emphasis on BLW-friendly recipes, baby-food meal-kit subscriptions, and nutrient-dense finger food options (such as avocados and other fresh fruits and vegetables, scrambled eggs, and meat). In addition, we expect to see more support for parents when introducing top food allergens, such as educational workshops.

    9. Mental Health and Parental Support

As general mental health matters become less taboo and more commonly talked about, maternal mental health and parental support will, too. Look out for more opportunities for moms and dads to participate in programs focusing on parental mental health. We believe you can expect to see accessible therapy apps, peer support groups, and workplace policies that promote postpartum leave for both parents.

    10. Flexible Childcare Solutions

Two young children are playing in a classroom. The child in the foreground is stacking pink blocks, while the child in the background is engaged with a wooden board game. Shelves with various toys and books are in the background.

With remote work remaining relevant, parents will continue to require flexible childcare solutions throughout the new year. Because of this, we expect to see an increase in services aimed at providing convenience and community-based care for families. These might include on-demand childcare options and nanny-sharing apps.

    11. Increased Focus on Infant Sensory Development

Learning and development begin at the very start of a baby’s life. So, we expect to see an increased focus on sensory development for infants in 2025. Toys, books, and play equipment will emphasize multisensory experiences to support this. These products will feature various elements that allow babies to use their different senses to observe, explore, and learn. Think: textured balls, touch-and-feel books, and crinkle paper, among others.

    12. Personalized Genetic Insights for Babies

A pregnant woman lies on a hospital bed. A healthcare professional in a white coat examines her stomach, their stethoscope draped around their neck. The softly lit room and background medical equipment set the scene for this intimate moment of care.

Genetic testing keeps becoming more advanced, which means parents will begin to have more access to noninvasive insights into their baby’s health and development. Genetic testing will continue to shed light on potential health conditions and genetic disorders that could impact a baby’s health and development (including during the fetal stage), such as Down Syndrome.6 In addition, we expect to see an increase in tools and offerings — such as apps, classes, personalized coaching, etc. — designed to optimize nutrition and developmental support.

    13. Expanded Community Support Networks

It truly takes a village to raise a baby, and we anticipate that moms and dads everywhere will prioritize building one. We expect to see online platforms and local meetups at the forefront of parental community-building, with both evolving to connect new parents with each other and with mentors and educators.

    14. Luxury/Minimalist Baby Gear

A white crib with a simple design is placed against a wall adorned with butterfly-patterned wallpaper, reflecting the latest baby trends. To the left of the crib is a woven basket displaying a whimsical fox face. A stylish floor lamp stands nearby, creating a cozy and trendy nursery setting.

With an abundance of options on the market for any and every type of necessary baby gear, quality is key for modern-day parents. Look out for an increased preference for luxury products combining functionality and sleek, minimalist-inspired design. More specifically? Convertible strollers, all-in-one bassinets, and space-saving gear.

    15. A Simplistic Approach to Baby Entertainment (Toy Rotation)

Just as we anticipate an increased focus on quality baby gear, we expect parents to opt for quality over quantity in terms of toys — and the access their babies have to them. More and more parents are getting on board with the concept of toy rotation, which simply means swapping out toys on a regular basis, rather than filling the entire house with everything at once. This method will also seep into play centers, daycares, and the like.

    16. Reimagined Baby Showers

Three women gather on a wooden deck with a festive atmosphere, surrounded by balloons and gifts. One woman, wearing a green dress, smiles as she cradles her pregnant belly. Another captures the moment while holding a phone in hand.

Traditional baby showers aren’t the only option available to expectant moms these days. Expect to see a continued interest in hybrid and virtual baby showers. These will offer interactive experiences like personalized, easily accessible gift registries, digital baby shower games, and curated gift boxes at the click of a button. (Or, rather, a link!)

    17. High-Tech Babywearing

It isn’t hard to see why so many moms (and dads) love babywearing: it’s safe, convenient, and promotes bonding.1 Going forward, we anticipate continuously evolving baby carriers with innovative designs and smart features. Modern babywearing parents will enjoy comfort and functionality, with key design elements such as built-in heating and cooling abilities and smart technology for monitoring heart rate and temperature. We can also expect more ergonomic, stylish baby carrier and wrap options.

    18. Rise of Multigenerational Parenting Communities

Bridging generational gaps is a necessary step in creating a deeper sense of community for new parents and loved ones. It can also help lighten the parenting load for new moms and dads. In 2025, we expect more families to lean on generational support for help and mentorship. In addition, we anticipate an increase in apps, platforms, books, courses, and support groups that aim to merge modern parenting with traditional wisdom and pair new parents with experienced mothers and fathers.

    19. Holistic Pregnancy and Parenting Approaches

A pregnant woman sits in a yoga pose on a mat in a sunlit room. Clad in a sports bra and leggings, her eyes are closed in meditation. A large window, potted plant, and sofa with stacked books complete the serene setting.

As new research and insights become available, society continues to emphasize the importance of health and wellness in all stages of pregnancy and parenting. Thus, parents are continuing to adopt holistic approaches to ensuring mental, physical, and emotional well-being for themselves and their children. In 2025, we expect to see a heightened focus on things like prenatal yoga and mindfulness classes for parenthood, natural remedies for infant ailments (such as chamomile for colic or lavender baths for sleep), and workshops based on emotional regulation and child development.2,3,4 These offerings will support parents in managing behaviors in a positive, healthy manner, benefiting families as a whole.

Pregnant or New to Parenting? Keep an Eye on These Trends in the Coming Year

The world is constantly changing. With that, pregnancy and baby trends are, too. Whether you’re pregnant and wondering what to expect in 2025 or just want to stay updated on the latest in the world of pregnancy and raising babies, these are the top trends to watch for in the next year. Cheers to 2025!
