Today we are making a fun Turkey craft for kids using our feet! This footprint turkey craft is great for little crafters, toddlers & preschoolers…even baby can participate in the Thanksgiving craft fun.

Let’s make a footprint turkey craft!

I decided to do a play on the traditional hand print turkeys; we are making a foot print turkey!  Kids Activities Blog loves colorful and creative (and easy) turkey crafts like this one that kids of all ages can enjoy.

This, like many of our other Thanksgiving crafts, do not require a lot of supplies. Many of these you might already have laying around!

Choose whatever paper you have on hand!

    Step 1

To begin with, I had Rory pick out different types of paper. Rory picked out the bright colorful pieces of scrap paper.

    Step 2

I then cut these out into a feather shape; rounded and larger at the top and smaller at the bottom.

    Step 3

When they are all cut out, have your child put some glue on the back of the feathers and arrange them on the construction paper. We chose to use five feathers, one a the top, two at the bottom, and two in between the top feather and the bottom feather.

    Step 4

Then it was Rory’s favorite part- the Footprints! We painted all of Rory’s feet, she used the paintbrush to paint her heels, toes, and rest of the foot.

    Step 5

Turn the paper with the feathers upside down and put the footprint on the paper.

    Step 6

    Set them aside to dry.

    Step 7

While they are drying, we cut out a triangle beaks out of the orange construction paper, and the turkey necks out of the red construction paper.

I also grabbed some googly eyes for each of the turkeys. Once the turkeys are dry you can apply the beaks, necks, and eyes.

We can’t wait to hang up our turkeys!

Make This Turkey Craft Your Own

Thanksgiving Craft- orange leaves to use as the turkey feathers
You could use anything you want for the turkey’s feathers!

You can make these turkey crafts your own! The whole family can make their own footprint Thanksgiving craft. And you can make it anyway you want. You can make it the way we did, or you can change it up. For example you could:

    • Use paper leaves as feathers
    • Use construction paper that are fall colors
    • Stamp feathers on using bubble wrap and paint

This craft should definitely get kids into the Thanksgiving spirit!

I love easy Thanksgiving crafts. My kids are little so, I need simple and fun Thanksgiving crafts. And this is also a great way to get younger kids in the holiday mood! Plus, this is one of my favorite Thanksgiving craft ideas. Why? It’s not just an easy craft, but it is a keepsake.

Something I can put into my child’s scrapbook so I can remember when they were little. Anyway, enough of that, let’s talk about our little project. You can use construction paper, but we used colorful tissue paper for the feathers. And the paint and googly eyes are simple craft supplies that I always keep on hand. Whenever a craft store has a sale I like to stock up!

And if you wanna be wild you can use whatever acrylic paint you want! Make a traditional or untraditional turkey! That is the best part of these favorite Thanksgiving crafts, you can make them your own!
