    Quick Pizza Toast

Learn how to make the quickest Pizza Toast to share with the kids for an easy lunch or dinner. This is the fastest way to get the flavors we love of pizza, with less work … all in about 15 minutes!

    Pizza Toast

I love having a stable of fast, reliable recipes to make for easy lunches and dinners and we love all of the easy pizza options. And while I was recently in the habit of making my Greek Yogurt Pizza Dough each week, I like to swap in this easy Pizza Toast idea since I get to skip the dough-making step on really busy days.

This pizza recipe comes together in less than 20 minutes, and the majority of that time the food is baking in the oven so you can do other things. You can easily adjust it for allergies and preferences, and you can even make each toast different to please each member of your family. Win!

    Ingredients You Need

Here’s a look at the ingredients you need to make this pizza recipe for kids. There are a lot of variations, so read through the suggestions to get started with your shopping list (or gathering ingredients from your kitchen!).

Ingredients for pizza toast on countertop.
    • Sourdough sandwich bread: Or Italian bread or other artisanal-style bread. These heartier types of bread work better than softer sandwich breads, which may become soggy when topped with pizza sauce.
    • Pizza sauce: You can use jarred pizza sauce or homemade sauce. You can also spread a little marinara on if you are out of pizza sauce.
    • Mozzarella cheese: Shredded mozzarella cheese adds the classic pizza cheese texture and flavor. Feel free to use an Italian cheese blend if you prefer.
    • Parmesan cheese: I like to sprinkle these easy pizzas with Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
    • Toppings such as pepperoni, cooked broccoli, olives, cooked sausage, or peppers, as you like. You can do a batch with all the same topping or make each toast different.
    • Optional: Feel free to add pizza seasoning and crushed red pepper for those who like spice.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

Below is a preview of how to make this easy pizza recipe so you know what to expect from the process. Scroll down to the end of the post for the full information, including the amounts and the timing.

    How to Store

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Warm in a toaster oven, air fryer, or oven for a few minutes to return to the crispy texture.

    Best Tips for Success

    • Cut into strips to make this easier for younger kids to eat.
    • Use dairy-free cheese if needed.
    • Use desired pizza toppings to customize this idea for your family.
    • I’ve made this with sourdough bread, Italian bread, and other types of hearty artisanal-style bread. That tends to hold up a little better than softer types of sandwich bread.
    • Use pesto in place of pizza sauce to vary the flavors.
