13 Tempting Non-Caffeinated Drinks at Starbucks (For Pregnant Mamas!)

So, you’re a Starbucks girly. Me too! If you’re a newly expecting mom you’re probably trying to figure out how you’re going to kick your coffee habit for the next 9 months. Well, I’ve got some good news for you. You don’t have to! There are plenty of non-caffeinated drinks at Starbucks that are perfectly safe for pregnancy.

You can have a little caffeine daily (discuss exact amounts with your doctor!) but you still might find yourself looking for a caffeine-free choice every now and then, which is exactly when this guide will come in handy.

    Wait, I can’t have caffeine?

Pregnancy is an extraordinary journey that brings about quite a few changes in a woman’s life, including dietary restrictions. One of the restrictions I was always most worried about; limiting my caffeine intake! I love my morning coffee and the occasional Diet Coke. What can I say?

While caffeine is generally considered safe in moderation (200 mg/day), excessive consumption may have adverse effects on both the mother and the developing baby.

Caffeine, a naturally occurring stimulant found in coffee, tea, and other beverages, can cross the placenta and affect your developing baby. High caffeine intake has been linked to an increased risk of miscarriage, preterm birth, low birth weight, and developmental delays. Moreover, caffeine can also lead to sleep disturbances and dehydration in pregnant women.

Fortunately, there are numerous non-caffeinated alternatives that can provide hydration, flavor, and enjoyment without the stimulating effects of caffeine. These beverages offer pregnant women a wide range of options to satisfy their cravings and stay hydrated throughout their pregnancy journey.

13 of the Best Non-Caffeinated Drinks at Starbucks
