It’s really that simple, too! Parents, guardians, and staff members make a referral, and they receive an emailed gift card on that student’s first day. The referral program is available through any of our child care centers as well as selected school-based programs, including Lorain Community, Emerson, Harrison, and Parma Community.
How To Get Started
Have friends and family members begin the registration process online to schedule a tour or to do so at a participating Horizon location. In the application, make sure they list you as the source of the referral.
Then, you’ve done your part—except for receiving, on the referred child’s first day in the program, your emailed $50 Amazon gift card. Spend it in any way you’d like—such as for school supplies or clothing or to purchase a want or need of your choice.

Horizon has earned and maintained their Step Up to Quality Star (SUTQ) Rating from the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. To achieve this SUTQ rating, Horizon must meet national research identified standards that lead to improved outcomes for children and meet quality standards that exceed licensing and safety standards.
We provide healthy snacks and lunches for children through the Child Care Food Program that supports the wellness, health, and development of children through nutritious foods. We provide engaging, quality programs, including field trips, throughout the year; encourage summer reading; and offer Yoga 4 to promote social, emotional, and physical wellness as well as boost learning readiness.
